I am so sad to hear of Larrys passing. He was such a sweet man. I sat in the booth with him at a race and he let me announce some things on the mic, it was a thrill! Such generosity of spirit. Went on to do acting, voiceovers and radio...he gave me my first dose of confidence. Condolences to all his family and friends.

Loved riding that train with my mom from Palmdale all they way to Union Station when I was 8 back in 2006. My mom and I then would get on the subway and make our way to the beaches. Good memories thanks for sharing.

As I said on another video -His Father is actually the mainstay of the movie. Yes -the movie is about that terrible time for some of us when we don't have a clue where we're going -but - his Father is a huge symbol for the millions of men that "went to work" for a living , who had no options , who beared up under the weight of it all and then had to see this sea change in the culture with the younger kids who did'nt want to follow in their footsteps but also having no clear alternatives (Such as with Chris and the crew). His Father said he loved his job ,but , looking at those giant blades going all day with all that noise I wonder if the guys who really did that were of the same opinion. Seems like maybe, maybe, a step up from coal mining and I doubt ANY of those guys loved doing that. Despite him being ,perhaps, a tragic figure , he provides a comic back drop for the movie. In reality , the men (and women) , who can struggle a lifetime and preserve a sense of humor about things are the TRUE champions. Athletic achievement is laudable but pales as a test of character compared to enduring endless years of trying to remain upright after a lifetime of struggle.
